A trip to the turtle pont
In Cassandra near Polichrono you can admire with your family the lake Mavrobara with its thousands of water-turtles. The lake was provided with a fence in 2001, because the number of creatures went continually down and because the extermination by theft of the buried in the sand eggs was feared.
The lake has received over the years its more common name among the tourists 'sea turtle lake'.
You can visit the lake either by a rental car or even make a wonderful hiking tour with your family starting in Polichrono.
